Energy Infrared Scans

WITH EVER-RISING ENERGY  PRICES, HOMEOWNERS AND HOME BUYERS ARE TRYING TO FIND WAYS TO MAKE THEIR HOMES MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT

Considering your heating and cooling load can be up to 50% of your actual energy bill, an Energy Scan IR in conjunction with a BLower Door test will help identify the two largest sources of heat and cooling loss thereby helping you save on your utility costs.

Our Infrared Survey of the building will be focused on the heat or cooling loss by finding missing, misplaced, or damaged insulation in the exterior walls, ceilings, and floors.

Our Enhanced Survey is a more detailed analysis of your home with the inclusion of a Blower Door Fan Test on your home.  A Blower Door is used to find air leakage in your home, by quantitatively measuring air changes per hour.  The fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside.  The higher outside air pressure then flows in through all unsealed cracks and openings so we can locate the leakage areas.

When unconditioned air from outside slips into your home, or conditioned air seeps out, you have to pay to heat or cool that extra air replacement. By air sealing and insulating, you could potentially save up to 30% of your energy bill and create a healthier indoor environment.

With an Energy ScanIR and Blower Door test we can give you the correct information to institute a plan of action so as to make the correct improvements.

The inspection report you will receive reflects the conditions of the property at the time of the survey only.  For example; weather conditions, inaccessible areas, furniture or appliances that cover a given area will effect.

Note: that proper insulation alone does not stop air infiltration in your home.  Also note that air sealing alone can't replace the need for proper insulation throughout your home, which is needed to reduce heat flow.

Our written Home Energy Audit is an in-depth analysis of your home's energy efficiency.  At Advantage Infrared we are certified by RESNET and HETI to perform the In-Home Survey Report with Diagnostics.  We are on the approved list of energy auditors with the State of Missouri.

During the audit procedure, a certified home energy auditor will complete an on-site visual evaluation of the home's energy features.  This will assess your home's energy performance.  All data collected is in accordance with the RESNET standards of practice.

By conducting an energy audit, the auditor is able to identify ways to reduce energy loss. Minimizing energy loss could result in dramatic savings to your energy bills.  Once the audit is completed, you will receive a detailed report of the results.  The report will highlight any problems and include the auditor's recommendations on actions that need to be taken to improve energy efficiency.

The intended result is home improvements that will increase your home's energy efficiency, comfort level, durability, and lower monthly utility bills.
